This video was inspired by the work of artist Wassily Kandinsky. It is a visual summary of the evolution of his style, from his use of wild brushstrokes to clean, tight lines. One constant over this evolution, however, was his affinity for the abstract; he often depicted objects as largely non-geometrical shapes.
Additionally, Kandinsky was greatly influenced and inspired by music. He likened the act of painting to that of music composition, stating: “Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, and the soul is the piano with many strings.”
I drew and animated everything here. As usual, Felipe Mejia did the crazy awesome audio track.
