How to Paint Red Wine – Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners

In this video, I’ll be showing you how to paint a glass of splashing wine. Yummy!

This is a good lesson for beginners and up!

I’m painting on a 16×20 stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.

The brushes I use are:
• A one-inch flat brush
• A half-inch angle brush
• A quarter-inch angle brush

I’m using Liquitex Basics paints in the following colors:
• Titanium White
• Cadmium Yellow Deep Hue
• Burnt Umber
• Alizarin Crimson
• Diox Purple
• Ultramarine Blue
• Mars Black

  1. OMG, JANEEE!!!! LOL! This is So Much Fun!!!! I don't know whether to give it as a gift or hang it on my own wall (maybe I will just do another one) – LOL!!! Loved doing this one! Just fun & relaxing. THANK YOU SO MUCH! – Quick Question – If I wanted to do a white wine – would you suggest a bluish background? and what colors would I mix to get the wine color of a Chardonay or is it like a yellow-white mixture (but which ones would you suggest?) Thanks!

  2. Ah, Jane, I want to thank you for your tutorials! I've never been much of a painter (I prefer coloured pencils!) but my older sister and I used to go to those painting classes together and it became kind of our thing. Sadly, I had to move to the other side of the state from her and don't get to see her often. I found you and TheArtSherpa's tutorials and began painting at home. In a way, it's helped me feel more connected to my sister and a little less homesick. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

  3. This is so beautiful. I've wanted to try my hand at painting glass for a long time and you make it very simple to do so. Heading over to print your traceable! Thanks so much!

  4. No idea how to "like" this more than just once!! But it is marvelous. You are a great teacher and all your instructions are wonderful and produce marvelous pictures.

  5. I love your channel, great fun paintings, not like other art channels, every thing explained in deatai and no fussing, Love your work,,, keep up the good work and thanks for all the beautiful paintings.

  6. I love this But kind of weird another channel had to toil pretty much exactly the same as this just a couple months ago I mean it’s exactly the same as yours the only differences the angle bottles coming from the office a corner with even down to the colors it’s practically copied here to video exactly but obviously use the original and the best!

  7. Do u have tutorials for the paintings (the skeleton one and the skeleton /zombie hand) on the wall at the beginning? If not could you do one? Or something like it…. Would love to do something like that.

  8. Love your videos. It would be extremely helpful if you zoomed out at times. It would help me with perspective. I enjoy watching the details of the painting but at times I would benefit from a larger pic. Aside from that you're a GREAT teacher! I have learned a lot from you.

  9. Jane You’re an amazing teacher! I wish I could be in your class and enjoy your art teaching. You’re very detailed, clear, and fun to and paint with. Thank you for sharing ❤️

  10. I'm just now coming across your videos and I love them! I've just started painting and so far I've done four or 5 paintings using your tutorials. I'm learning pretty quickly! Thanks so much
